Sidelined for the best part of two months, the return of long servant Tierney was a welcome one after the festive break.
Late substitute appearances in the matches against Stoke City and Tottenham Hotspur, the midfielder was rewarded with a start against Liverpool and was proud to play her part in the success.
“For me personally, I’ve missed being on the pitch,” she said. “This has probably been the longest injury I’ve had so it’s given me some time to focus on myself and work on individual aspects.

“Being able to come back and play your part is important. It was a good win for us and hopefully now we can use that to push forward.
“It’s always tough being out injured, because it’s out of your control and you can’t do anything. But I was proud of the girls for how much they’ve put in and how much they’ve learned.”
Speaking on the input Amandine Miquel has had on the Foxes, the former Doncaster player stated that the team are beginning to understand what is required of them, which is starting to show on the pitch.
Tierney added: “Amandine [Miquel] is very clear on positivity and believing that anything can happen, and if you can get the squad to believe that, then it can lead to great things – the Chelsea result proved that.
“Off the first half of the season, we’re starting to learn that. Every game is massive and if we can believe that points come from anywhere then hopefully we can keep building.”

Looking ahead to this weekend’s test against Everton, Tierney hopes to have more of an impact for Leicester, and while hoping for consecutive wins, doesn’t believe Sunday’s match on Merseyside will define our season.
“It would be nice to get points and a win anywhere,” the No.3 continued. “But I reiterate that Amandine has made it clear that we can get points from anywhere.
“We don’t want to put pressure on specific games and right now we just want to build on the performance we had against Liverpool.”
