Bobby De Cordova-Reid reflects on our 2-1 comeback win at Norwich City
The Jamaica international equalised for Leicester City, before Jordan James’ added-time winner
He hopes the Foxes can continue to build on this victory after a disappointing run of form
He’s currently away with his national side but will be back in time for our next match, Stoke City at home on 22 November
Mathias Kvistgaarden’s opener for the Canaries, midway into the second half, seemed to have us on course to stretch a run of five games without a victory.
De Cordova-Reid, though, made the perfect impact from the bench, first scoring our equaliser before being part of the move leading to Jordan James’ 92nd-minute winner.
It sparked euphoric celebrations with over 2,000 members of the Blue Army in the away end at Carrow Road and the Jamaica forward – now away with the Reggae Boyz for the final international break of 2025 – hopes City can build on this victory.
“It’s massive obviously, considering what happened in the last game, conceding so late, it felt like a loss,” Bobby said.
“But the lads picked themselves up. Going 1-0 down, we showed character to get back into the game and then went on to win it.
“It’s a big step for us, three points on the board. We’ve just got to continue to build and keep going. It was nice [to win the game in added time], really nice.
“To score so late, after conceding so late last week, it’s a nice feeling. It’s been long overdue for us. We keep on working, keep doing the right things, and it’ll come good.”
Introduced on the 73rd minute, it was in the 75th that De Cordova-Reid scored, and he’s eager to continue making his mark, whether that be as a starter or a sub.
“Listen, we’ve got a big squad,” our No.14 added. “Everyone’s got to be counted. There’s 11 players on the pitch and when you’re time comes you’ve got to be ready to make an impact and be in the Manager’s thoughts.
“Today, at 1-0 down, I wanted to come on and make an impact, try and change the game. Thankfully, I got the goal and we went on to win it, so it’s a good day.”
