Key Stage 3 students from schools across Leicester and Leicestershire came together at LCFC Training Ground for the annual Summer at Seagrave Premier League Inspires Tournament.
Participants from Hastings High School, Brockington College, Castle Mead Academy and The Martin High School all took part in the tournament, representing their schools with pride throughout the day.
The event provided participants with the opportunity to represent their schools while taking part in a range of activities designed to develop teamwork, communication and leadership skills in a fun and engaging environment.
Throughout the day, students competed in relay races, tested their accuracy in crossbar challenges, worked together in tug of war contests and took part in a variety of football challenges across the training ground.
The tournament forms part of Leicester City in the Community's Premier League Inspires programme, which uses the appeal of football to support young people in developing the personal skills and confidence needed to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
Premier League Inspires Mentor Alice Mason said: "Our Inspires tournaments create the opportunity for participants to put into practice what they have been learning with our mentors all year, utilising their resilience, confidence, teamwork and communication skills.
“It also creates a sense of community amongst our partner schools and participants, providing the opportunity to connect using the power of football."
Participants demonstrated fantastic enthusiasm and energy throughout the event, embracing every challenge while supporting one another and showcasing the values promoted through the programme.
A student from Hastings High School shared their experience following the event, praising both the activities and the supportive environment created by Leicester City in the Community coaches and fellow students.
They said: "I had a really fun day, with nice people from Leicester City FC… learning how to kick a football was exciting, the activities were fun and the Premier League Inspires programme has been really helpful.”
Another student from Brockington College also reflected on their experiences: "Staff were nice and made us feel welcome. Football rounders was the best activity, but beating the boys in tug of war was fun and meeting other students part of the Inspires programmes was nice."
The Summer at Seagrave Tournament continues to be a highlight of the Premier League Inspires calendar, bringing young people together to recognise their progress while creating lasting memories at Leicester City's world-class training facility.
A huge thank you goes to all participating schools, staff and students for helping make the event another successful and enjoyable occasion.
