Ricardo Pereira reflects on our 4-1 reverse to Queens Park Rangers
Koki Saito, Richard Kone, Karamoko Dembélé and Amadou Mbengue scored for QPR
Silko Thomas got one back late on, for his first senior LCFC goal, but it wasn't enough
Ricardo has called on the team to analyse the game and work to be more consistent
Collecting seven points from a possible nine preceded this reverse at MATRADE Loftus Road, with the Hoops being four goals ahead at half-time.
Koki Saito, Richard Kone, Karamoko Dembélé and Amadou Mbengue found the net for the home side, before we got one back through Silko Thomas’ first senior LCFC goal.
It came too late to be the foundation of a comeback, though, and captain Ricardo was disappointed the Foxes weren’t able to build on the momentum of previous weeks.
“It’s difficult,” he said at full-time. “We had a good week last week and we spoke before the game, [saying that] it was good, but we needed to keep going, keep being consistent. We need to be more consistent if we want to be up there.
“We need to see what’s gone wrong, not only in this game, but we had more than one game where the result is already too unlevel at half-time.
“We are making things very difficult for us. It’s difficult to get back and they get the confidence playing at home. It’s difficult, we need to address it. We cannot let this happen.”
With two home games to close 2025, against Watford on Boxing Day and Derby County on 29 December, the focus must now be on regaining that consistency before the New Year, Ricardo says.
“We need to build a good momentum and a good sequence of results,” he added. “Unfortunately, we’re not achieving that goal. It makes things even more difficult because [when] you have a good momentum and you have a good week, you feel that things are changing, and then after disappointing game, it’s tough for everyone.
“The good thing about football is you have another game coming. We have two games at home, so hopefully we can change this, and build a good sequence of results.”
