  • We take on Liverpool at King Power Stadium this Sunday (4:30pm kick-off)
  • Ricardo Pereira sat down with CITY to preview the Premier League contest
  • A 2-2 draw at Brighton & Hove Albion last week ended our run of eight defeats
  • The performance was one to build on in the final games of the season, he says
Our first point in nine Premier League matches was a much-needed boost following a tough run of form, with Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side remaining 19th in the Premier League table ahead of the visit of Liverpool on Sunday.
The 4:30pm kick-off could decide matters at both the top and bottom of the standings, with Arne Slot’s Reds on course to seal a second Premier League title should they claim victory at King Power Stadium and Arsenal lose earlier in the day.

Focusing on the Foxes, however, Ricardo firstly reflected on the comeback draw on the South Coast and what it did for rebuilding confidence within the group having endured such a challenging period.
“After that difficult run of games that we had, it was important to give a response and get back to achieving positive results,” the Portuguese defender told CITY, the Club’s official matchday publication, earlier this week. “Brighton have a good team and playing away provides its difficulties.
“Being behind twice and chasing the result was a challenge for us but I think we showed a little bit more of our quality than in recent games. We could have made it three points with the chances we had in the second half but, for sure, after the run we had, it’s a positive to come away from Brighton with a point.”
The league leaders may be heading to Filbert Way as champions-elect, but having shown commitment to the cause for the final games of the season, everyone within the Foxes camp will be putting up a big fight, according to the 31-year-old.
Back home for the first time since defeat to the Magpies.

“We’ve shown before against big teams that we can compete with them and I believe Sunday will be the same,” the Lisbon native added. “Of course, we know the position they are in compared to us and we know the position we are in.
“It’s really, really difficult but we have to keep going every day and giving our best in training to try to finish the best we can for us, the fans, the Club and our families to keep fighting until the end.
“They are close to winning the title but we have our own ambitions too and our own pride. We will give it our best.”
