  • LCFC Women beaten 3-1 by Manchester City in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup
  • Sari Kees played 90 minutes in the fixture at Joie Stadium
  • The Belgian international gave her reaction following the full-time whistle
Having recently suffered a short-term injury, Kees was back in the starting XI for our FA Cup visit to Joie Stadium.
Not able to react quick enough to Man City’s two-goal lead at the break, she believes the team did take on board Amandine Miquel’s half-time instructions and will now look ahead to the next games to put their learnings into practice.

“I think we started well for the first 10 minutes, but after the first goal, the mentality was a little down,” Kees explained.
“So, the Manager told us to be more aggressive and be more positive and we did that in the second half and got our goal.”
Remaining in just one competition now, full focus turns to the Barclays Women's Super League and retaining our top flight status come the end of May.
City's attention turns back to the WSL this weekend.

Looking to take each game as it comes, Kees believes points could come from anywhere, starting with the visit of Aston Villa to King Power Stadium on Sunday (3pm GMT kick-off).
She added: “We have next week to focus on now, and we don’t need to focus on specific teams for points because we got a point off Chelsea so we know we can actually win every weekend so staying in the league is the most important thing.
“It’s good that we can focus on the league now, but we take each game as it comes and keep working to achieve our end goal.”
