LCFC Women come from behind to beat Liverpool on Sunday afternoon
Janice Cayman and Missy Goodwin netted at King Power Stadium
Amandine Miquel reflects on the positive performance that led to points
We travel to Walton Hall Park next to face Everton
Sunday's win over the Reds gave the Foxes some breathing space in the league, as a second win of the season takes us up to nine points - four ahead of bottom-placed Crystal Palace. Stating that it was a good way to return to form after a narrow loss to Tottenham Hotspur the week prior, the Manager was proud of the players' mindset to come from behind on Filbert Way. Shannon O'Brien got her first start of the season last weekend.
"I feel good," Miquel explained. "It was a hard end of the game and we were suffering a lot; giving fouls away to a team who have bigger players than us but again the players showed a lot of character today. "We said afterwards that no one is perfect and mistakes will happen, but today we got the points unlike last week, so it was good to get the win.
"It's not easy when you start a game like that but they have the mental resources and they are believing in themselves now and that makes us a strong team."
A first start for Shannon O'Brien, it was a refreshing change to have her attacking prowess in our front line, but the former Stade de Reims Manager believes anyone that has played in the no.9 position this season has done the job asked of them. A second win of the season.
"Sam [Tierney] and Shannon [O'Brien] played well and we're happy to have them back," Miquel continued. "But it's a different style of play, we don't ask Shannon to play the same as Sao (Saori Takarada) would. "We've been very happy with how she has been playing it as well, but Shannon brings something else, like her offensive knowledge and speed up front, but any player that we put in that position has a big job to do and we trust them.
"Any win feels nice. We're going to go into every game aiming to play the best we can and get something. We were disappointed last week so to get the win today so it will give us confidence going forward."
