We were without a win in eight league games under Craig Levein by the time Millwall visited Filbert Way in the Championship on 2 April, 2005.

Levein stepped in to replace Micky Adams following his resignation earlier in the season, but the Foxes had slid into relegation contention over the winter months of 2004/05.

A first-ever goal for Academy graduate Richard Stearman, just 17 at the time, opened the scoring for Levein's men, who were pegged back to 1-1 by Danny Dichio.

However, David Connolly's penalty - one of 13 goals for the Irishman that season - got us back in front before January signing Mark de Vries got off the mark for City.

Five years later, despite being firmly in the race for the play-offs, Leicester headed into a home clash with Queens Park Rangers on the back of four successive defeats on 5 April, 2010.

Nigel Pearson's men, though, reclaimed momentum with a throughly impressive four-goal rout of their London opponents, keeping them sixth in the Championship standings.

The Foxes were bidding for a second promotion in a row, after winning the League 1 title in 2009, and our chances improved when Andy King put us ahead after just five minutes.

A brace from Martyn Waghorn, meanwhile, which included a breathtaking second from distance, put City firmly into the ascendancy before Steve Howard's header wrapped up the game.

Another five years later, Leicester were in real danger of returning to the Championship after just one season in the Premier League when, on 4 April, 2015, West Ham United visited King Power Stadium.

Popular Argentinian Esteban Cambiasso's 12th-minute opener steadied the nerves for the Blue Army, but they returned again when Cheikhou Kouyaté drew Sam Allardyce's men level.

A tense affair took until the 86th moment before reaching its decisive moment as King - the winner of titles in the Championship and League 1 - pounced to secure a first win in eight outings.

The Foxes would go on to win seven of their remaining nine games in the top flight to climb from bottom of the table to the heights of 14th at the end of 2014/15 under Pearson's management.

This time last year, on the other hand, we badly needed a win after just one in six Championship outings appeared to be slowing down our title bid.

It was tense on Filbert Way when Norwich City were the visitors to LE2 on 1 April, 2025, even more so when Gabriel Sara put the Canaries ahead in the 20th minute.

Goals from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Stephy Mavididi and Jamie Vardy, though, got us back on track, offering a springboard for a second home win in a row later on that week, on 6 April, 2025.

Of course, it would all turn out okay in the end, with Leicester getting over the line to seal a record eighth second-tier title and return to the Premier League ahead of this season.
