Returning after the winter break, City's youngsters welcomed the high-flying Eagles to LCFC Training Ground for the first Premier League 2 clash of the calendar year but went behind to an Ademola Ola-Adebomi goal just 15 minutes in.

It remained that way until eight minutes from time, when substitute Hindolo Mustapha doubled the visitors' advantage and ensured all three PL2 points would be heading back to south London.

It was a difficult night for City's youngsters.

The result leaves the young Foxes 15th in the table, on 14 points from their 11 matches to date, ahead of travelling down to the South Coast to face Brighton & Hove Albion at AMEX Elite Football Performance Centre next Friday (4pm GMT kick-off).
