A late victory in December started City's journey in the competition.

In extra-time, Leicester captain Luke Thomas converted a penalty of his own to seal a 2-1 win.

City’s youngsters then advanced to the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup with a 4-0 win over Crewe Alexandra in January.

Dempsey Arlott-John opened the scoring after 31 minutes before, on the stroke of half-time, Shane Flynn doubled City's lead with a well-placed finish from the corner of the 18-yard box.

In the second period, Terell Pennant and Russ added to the home side's tally to set up a fifth round tie with Bolton Wanderers.

Their trip to the University of Bolton Stadium, meanwhile, ended in a brilliant 3-0 victory last month to secure safe passage to the quarter-finals.

Shane Flynn was among the scorers as City's youngsters defeated Crewe in the Fourth Round.

Sidnei Tavares, Arlott-John and Pennant struck for the young Foxes in Lancashire, before it was confirmed that it is Watford who will head to King Power Stadium in the last-eight.

The Hornets have so far defeated Birmingham City, Southampton and Ipswich Town to reach this stage of the competition.

Last year, the young Foxes were knocked out on penalties at Nottingham Forest in the fourth round.

In 2014/15, though, an Under-18s squad including Ben Chilwell, Harvey Barnes and Hamza Choudhury overcame Wigan Athletic, Chesterfield, Southampton and Birmingham City to reach the semi-finals.
