- Leicester City to kick off their pre-season campaign against Scunthorpe United
- The Foxes travel to Glanford Park on Tuesday 16 July (7:30pm BST kick-off)
- It’s the third confirmed pre-season fixture for Brendan Rodgers’ side
It’s City’s first visit to Glanford Park since 2011, when the two sides met in the Championship. The game finished 3-0 to the Foxes, who have a strong track record against The Iron, winning seven of their 10 meetings.
However, Brendan Rodgers’ side will certainly be put to the test, as Scunthorpe look to mount a promotion challenge next season after being relegated from League 1 last term.
The fixture is the third confirmed pre-season game for the Foxes, who travel to Rotherham United and Stoke City on Saturday 27 July (3pm BST kick-off).
First team squads will be deployed to both the AESSEAL New York Stadium and Bet365 Stadium, as Rodgers seeks to step up the preparation of all playing personnel just two weeks before the start of the new Premier League campaign.
The 2019/20 Premier League season begins on the weekend of 10/11 August, with the season’s fixtures due to be released on Thursday 13 June.
