Leicester City To Host Wolves In 2019/20 Premier League Opener

Leicester City will begin their 2019/20 Premier League campaign with a home game against Wolverhampton Wanderers at King Power Stadium on Saturday 10 August.

The Foxes will take on Nuno Espírito Santo’s side in a 3pm kick-off, as they embark upon a first full season under manager Brendan Rodgers and build on the momentum of a positive end to last season, which saw the Foxes finish ninth.

Leicester City’s first away game comes a week later on Saturday 17 August, when they visit Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea. The last time the Foxes played the West London side at their ground, they came away 1-0 winners.

Rodgers’ men then face newly-promoted Sheffield United away on Saturday 24 August, followed by AFC Bournemouth at home on Saturday 31 August, Manchester United away on Saturday 14 September and Tottenham Hotspur at home on Saturday 21 September, which completes their opening six games.

The Foxes are away three times over the festive period. They travel to Etihad Stadium on Saturday 21 December to take on Premier League champions, Manchester City, before hosting Liverpool at home on Boxing Day. An away trip to West Ham United follows on Saturday 28 December, with Newcastle United the opposition at St James’ Park in the first fixture of 2020 on New Year’s Day.

The 2019/20 season will also include a mid-season player break for the first time, with the fixture away to Wolves to be played on the weekend of 8 February or 15 February, with five games taking place on either weekend. The split of matches will be confirmed on 14 December, 2019.

Rodgers’ side will also face a testing end to the campaign, when Sheffield United visit on Saturday 2 May, followed by an away encounter against Tottenham Hotspur at their new stadium the following weekend and Manchester United at home on the final day of the 2019/20 season.
