Hello everyone.
It’s been a tough week in Évian, that’s for sure. We’ve done a lot of good work and it’s been good to be together, to get to know each other and to meet the new players.
We’ve been working hard on the pitch and off the pitch, focusing on our team values, principles, identity and what we want to achieve this season.
City's skipper alongside James Justin and Jamie Vardy in training.
It’s always nice to end the week by seeing where our fitness levels are, too, with a 11-a-side game taking place this morning. It was very competitive.
It’s a match tempo, both teams want to win, and we’ve been giving it our all. It’s a good benchmark to see where our fitness is and how we’ve progressed so far this pre-season.
In the first week back, you sometimes get muscle soreness and it’s obviously hard being introduced back. We were doing a lot of work on our legs and at that stage, and we weren’t quite used to it.
Now, in our second week, we feel good and feel like our fitness is getting back. The first two weeks are always tough but then you feel the benefits of what you’ve done so far.
Thanks for reading,
Wes.
