The Foxes were held to a goalless draw by Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend, while Chelsea suffered an opening day Premier League defeat at Manchester United.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s 4:30pm BST encounter with the UEFA Europa League holders in the capital, Rodgers revealed that he will have a largely fully-fit squad to choose from.

“We’ve got no injury worries,” he told the national media on Filbert Way. “Everyone is fit and has trained really well in the week.”

For us, it’s step-by-step. We made a solid start [vs. Wolves], we were defensively very good. The squad is very talented, it’s young, but we’re developing all the time.

Reflecting on the Wolves clash, meanwhile, Rodgers was enthused by the defensive solidity which his side displayed against an outfit renowned for their attacking threat.

“It’s a long season,” he added. “For us, it’s step-by-step. We made a solid start, we were defensively very good. The squad is very talented, it’s young, but we’re developing all the time.

“We were playing against a very good side, a side you can see have been together a long time, so I was pleased with our defensive organisation.

“Wolves gave us problems, but we defended against that very, very well. It was always going to be a tight game with few chances, but our structure was very good.

“We kept the ball for large spells and created chances which, on another day, we may have scored. Hopefully as time goes on, we’ll take those opportunities.”

Live coverage of the match in London will be available live and for free on LCFC Radio from 1:30pm BST on Sunday.
