Reusable cups at King Power Stadium

Supporter Reminder: Reusable Pint Cups In Use At King Power Stadium

In a bid to reduce single-use plastics, the Club recently introduced reusable pint cups at King Power Stadium on home matchdays - and supporters attending tonight’s fixture against West Ham United are kindly encouraged to make use of them.

- Leicester City aiming to reduce the amount of single-use plastics
- Reusable pint cups are in operation throughout all concourses at King Power Stadium
- Designated recycling bins are housed in each concourse for fans to dispose of their cups - ordinary cups should not be placed into these bins
- Supporters are urged to make use of these bins to help reduce the Club’s carbon footprint

The cups are in use on all concourse areas, with designated recycle bins located around King Power Stadium for supporters to dispose of their cups so that they can be washed after each match and recirculated.

In total, the Club receives 10,000 reusable pint cups per game. They were first introduced when the Foxes faced Arsenal in the Premier League back in November.

It is estimated that the move will prevent 3.2 tonnes of plastic from polluting the environment during the 2019/20 season.

The Football Club have made a number of changes with regards to single-use plastics since the start of the 2018/19 campaign, with sauce sachets on concourses replaced by bottles, all plastic straws removed from circulation, plastic forks and knives replaces by wooden sporks and plastic stirrers replaced by wooden ones.

Furthermore, clap banners are 100 per cent recyclable and made from recyclable materials, the Foxes Fanstore at King Power Stadium have introduced brown paper bags in store to replace all plastic ones, while the Club’s kit manufacturer adidas are producing replica shirts made from 100 per cent recyclable polyester.

Leicester City in the Community have been involved in the Sky Ocean Rescue campaign since the start of 2017, with coaches visiting primary schools across the county to educate children about the issues affecting ocean health, to help find innovative solutions to the problem of ocean plastics and to inspire people to make small everyday changes that collectively make a huge difference.

Make a difference yourself – please recycle your cup at tonight’s game.
