By the time Leicester City approached the 2000 League Cup Final against Tranmere Rovers, Neil Lennon was an essential part of Martin O'Neill's starting XI.
Lennon was signed from Crewe Alexandra in the winter of 1996 as Martin O'Neill looked to turn the Club's fortunes around and secure a place in the old First Division's play-off berths.
That achievement, courtesy of a final day success at Watford, was secured before Steve Claridge's shin, with seconds of extra-time remaining, defeated Crystal Palace in the final at Wembley.
