Andy King's 13th appearance for Huddersfield Town ended in a 2-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion on Friday - a result with significance at both ends of the Sky Bet Championship.

- Andy King helps Huddersfield Town to a vital victory over West Bromwich Albion
- The on-loan Leicester City midfielder starred for 71 minutes as the Terriers won 2-1
- That result all but secures Huddersfield's safety and sealed Leeds United's promotion
- Earlier this week, Rachid Ghezzal and Filip Benković scored for Fiorentina and Bristol City

The Leicester City legend is on loan with the Terriers until the conclusion of the 2019/20 campaign, when the Premier League title-winning midfielder will leave the Club after 16 years.

Three points at John Smith's Stadium propels the Yorkshire club up three places to 17th in the second-tier standings, edging them six points clear of the relegation zone.

King, 31, started for the home side, who went ahead after just four minutes through on-loan Benfica forward Chris Willock, before Dara O'Shea levelled the scores before the break.

With the Baggies chasing a winner to open up a four-point gap to in-form Brentford in third, Huddersfield snatched the win through Emile Smith Rowe with four minutes to play.

Rachid Ghezzal scored a stunning free-kick in a win for Fiorentina in July.

As a result, Leeds United were promoted to the Premier League after 16 years away, while Slaven Bilić's West Brom lie one point clear of Brentford, who have a game in hand.

For King, who was substituted after 71 minutes, and his Town team-mates, including former Fox Richard Stearman, they have all but secured their Championship status.

They next travel to Millwall on Wednesday (7:30pm kick-off) on the final day of the season, but they could learn of their confirmed safety from relegation on Saturday.

Earlier this week, meanwhile, Rachid Ghezzal and Filip Benković both found the net for Fiorentina and Bristol City respectively on Wednesday evening.

In Belgium, midfielder Kamal Sowah is continuing to prepare for OH Leuven’s Proximus League second-leg tie against Beerschot on Sunday 2 August (6pm kick-off).
