Flint Delighted To Finish On A High

Playing their maiden fixture at King Power Stadium, LCFC Women rounded off the promotion-winning campaign with a dominant win ahead of lifting the league trophy they sealed last month.
Flint's 17th strike of the season broke the deadlock on Filbert Way and, although she had a hand in the fourth, it went down as an own goal, meaning the forward narrowly missed out on the Championship's Golden Boot award.
But it was still a highly impressive first season from the former England youth international, finishing as the Club's top goalscorer and helping to fire the Foxes into the Barclays FA Women's Super League.
Flint told LCFC TV: "To play here at King Power Stadium, for some people it's a dream come true. You're not going to get days like this often, so to come here and get a win and to finish the season on a high, is really good.
A Dream Come True, Says Flint

"I was nervous, to be honest. I don't usually get nervous, I think it was because we were playing here on this pitch and in this stadium. But it's just the same game as any other weekend.
"To get the first goal and be the first women's player to score a goal here, I'm happy with that. I didn't really get a good connection to it and then I just got in front of the player, which is not normally what I do, I don't normally run front post!
"It was never going to be easy to get the Golden Boot, but I'm top goalscorer for Leicester so, for me, that's a good achievement."
Emphatically bouncing back from just their second defeat of the season against Lewes last weekend, Flint felt the performance was a demonstration of the team's attacking quality, with fellow forwards Hannah Cain, Charlie Devlin and Lachante Paul all influential throughout the afternoon.
She also looked ahead to the prospect of playing in the top flight next season, confident that City will be able to hold their own in the division.
"I think it's just about consistency sometimes," the ex-Blackburn Rovers striker added. "Playing with those players on a regular basis, it helps the game massively.
"This week, we knew we had to win after going away to Lewes and obviously losing, we knew we had to turn up and play like champions. And I think we've done that today, we've shown that and put a statement out there.
"I think the group will be fine (in the WSL). We've tried to prepare ourselves this year for the WSL because that's why a lot of the players have been brought in, so I think if the group of girls sticks together and we all stick together in training, on the pitch and off the pitch, I think we'll do fine."
