- Supporters permitted at Emirates FA Cup Final as part of UK Government Event Research Programme
- Leicester City face Chelsea at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 15 May
- Leicester City allocation of tickets now sold out
- All supporters must produce a negative lateral flow test result to attend

The Foxes’ first FA Cup Final in 52 years is due to be played in front of spectators as part of the Government’s Events Research Programme (ERP), informing the process to safely reintroduce fans and audiences to large-scale events, as coronavirus restrictions are eased.

This latest stage of the ERP will see approximately 22,000 spectators permitted to attend the Final, including a full allocation of 6,250 Leicester City supporters.

Supporters attending the Final should familiarise themselves with the following important information:

***************************************

PARTICIPATION IN THE ERP

Attendees will be participating in the UK Government’s ERP and must, therefore, comply with its protocols and admission requirements in order to attend.

Under-16s are not permitted to take part in the ERP and therefore are not eligible to attend the Final. ERP guidelines also strongly urge caution for the clinically extremely vulnerable attending the event on public health grounds, however these groups are not excluded from involvement in the pilot.

All supporters attending the Final will be asked to complete a consent form confirming their acceptance to participate in the ERP and comply with all protocols relative to the ERP. If consent forms and the ERP’s admission requirements are not completed, access to Wembley Stadium will be denied. Failure to complete the consent form by 5pm on Tuesday 11 May will result in a supporter’s ticket purchase being cancelled and the Club shall be entitled to resell the ticket(s).

TESTING REQUIREMENTS

Lateral Flow Device Testing

Without exception, entry to Wembley Stadium on matchday is dependent on providing a negative COVID-19 Lateral Flow Device (LFD) test result in conjunction with a form of photo ID. The LFD test must be taken through community test sites, no more than 48 hours before entry to Wembley Stadium. For clarity, the LFD test can take place from 2.15pm onwards on Thursday 13 May.

The negative LFD test result will be checked on arrival by Wembley Stadium stewards at the outer security perimeter via the NHS email or text confirmation received to your phone. A negative result will allow entry to the stadium’s outer concourse.

It is the responsibility of all attendees to organise their own LFD test, which must take place at an asymptomatic community testing site. An LFD test taken at home will not be sufficient to obtain entry to Wembley Stadium.

Details of where your nearest test site is located can be found by clicking the links below. Attendees are encouraged to book their LFD test as soon as possible after purchasing their ticket and to use the opportunity of Thursday afternoon and all-day Friday to avoid a rush of late demand.

LFD testing sites in Leicester and Leicestershire (Once you have considered the eligibility criteria, please proceed to the link to Book an appointment for a lateral flow test.) This site is strongly recommended for supporters living in Leicester and Leicestershire.

LFD testing sites nationally (search for your local area and apply both the ‘Test site requiring booking’ and ‘Test site not requiring booking’ filters under the section titled ‘test site for people without symptoms’)

The above filters will ensure you attend a site that offers on-site staff support. You may need to travel further than your closest asymptomatic (LFD) community test site due to local testing demand.

PCR Testing

To further support the ERP research, attendees are requested to take a pre-event PCR test at home. Participants are also requested to undertake a PCR home test again five days after the event. If necessary, we will provide all ticket holders with information on how to order home PCR tests but it is likely that these will be automatically posted to ticket holders’ addresses.

While entry to the stadium is not dependant on a negative PCR result, this data is extremely important to the ERP’s scientific research and the return of fans in even greater number, so we would ask that this additional testing is undertaken if possible.

All testing is provided free of charge.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

Supporters travelling from Leicester by coach will be checked onto official coaches on the matchday. Failure to travel by the approved means of transport may result in tickets being cancelled. Supporters must present their coach and match tickets, photo ID and proof of negative lateral flow test result (NHS SMS or email) in order to board an official coach. Supporters will be required to wear face coverings on the journey (subject to any individual exemptions) and socially distanced seating will be in place.

Departure from King Power Stadium

Supporters to depart from King Power Stadium and be dropped off at Saffron Lane Athletics Stadium on return. There will be no parking available at King Power Stadium so supporters should utilise other means of transport in order to travel to King Power Stadium before departure to Wembley, and in order to return home from Saffron Lane Athletics Stadium.

Leicester City Council have provided the following links to assist supporters in identifying suitable car parks in the vicinity and to support your journey to King Power Stadium.

Departure from Enderby Park & Ride

Supporters to depart from Enderby Park & Ride and be dropped at the same location on return. Parking is available at Enderby Park & Ride, free of charge. This is the recommended accessible option for supporters with disabilities.

Supporters that book coach travel will be contacted directly by the Club with further travel information.

CONSENT

All spectators are required to give individual consent to joining the Events Research Programme in order to attend the match. For the avoidance of doubt, a lead booker cannot give consent to all members of their party. A link to the relevant consent form will be on the ticket purchase confirmation email sent to the lead contact on the booking. The Club will also send the relevant consent form links to all ticket holders.

Tickets will only be issued to ticket purchasers once the Club has received completed consent forms from all members of your party.
