Leicester Stars Braced For Dramatic Week At EURO 2020

- Four matches involve Leicester City players over the coming week at UEFA EURO 2020
- Two of those clashes could see Foxes players come face-to-face at the tournament
- Danny Ward's Wales face Çağlar Söyüncü's Turkey on Wednesday
- Belgium (Youri Tielemans, Dennis Praet) tackle Denmark (Kasper Schmeichel) a day later

So far, Youri Tielemans and Dennis Praet have helped Belgium to a 3-0 triumph over Russia in St. Petersburg on Saturday, although defender Timothy Castagne was forced to withdraw in the first half. The Foxes' No.27 is set to miss the rest of the tournament with a fractured eye socket.

Danny Ward, on the other hand, delivered a sterling performance in goal for Wales to help his country begin EURO 2020 with a 1-1 draw against Switzerland in Baku. There were also outings for Kasper Schmeichel and Çağlar Söyüncü, but Denmark and Turkey respectively suffered defeats.

City's representation resumes on Wednesday with Ward set to come up against Leicester colleague Söyüncü when Wales tackle Turkey at Baku Olympic Stadium. After Italy's curtain-raiser victory over the Crescent-Stars, both sides will be eying three points to remain in touching distance in Group A.

Foxes defender Çağlar Söyüncü started for Turkey against Italy in Rome last Friday night.

Then, on Thursday, Schmeichel could earn his 67th cap for Denmark when Kasper Hjulmand's Danes entertain FIFA World Rankings leaders Belgium – whose squad still includes Tielemans and Praet – at Parken Stadium. Denmark were beaten by Finland on an emotional evening on Saturday.

Matchday 3 arrives on Sunday for two Leicester City players. A daunting, yet exciting, clash with Italy awaits for Ward and Wales in Rome, while Söyüncü's Turkey face Switzerland in Baku. Belgium's group stage concludes against Finland at Krestovsky Stadium, while Denmark face Russia, on Monday.
