The Foxes are in the Polish capital to tackle Legia Warsaw on matchday two in the UEFA Europa League after drawing 2-2 with Napoli first time out, while Thursday's hosts left Russia with a 1-0 success over Spartak Moscow.
Speaking in Warsaw, ahead of open training at Stadion Wojska Polskiego, Rodgers provided an update on the fitness of his squad, revealing that experienced centre-back Evans will not feature for the Foxes as he continues his recovery from a foot issue.
"He hasn’t travelled," the Northern Irishman told the media. "He wasn’t well enough to travel so we’ll keep him behind and we’ll see how he is for the weekend. I’ve always said he’s a top defender and when he plays, we are better.
"We have to manage it. We were hoping he’d be available for this game, but he’s not, so we’ll see when we get back and hopefully [he’ll be available] for the weekend."
You have to find a way. Earlier on in the season, we brought [Boubakary] Soumaré into the squad because he gives us that physicality. Wilf’s a fabulous player and hopefully he’s be okay for the weekend.Brendan Rodgers
City will also be without the talents of midfielder Wilfred Ndidi following the Nigeria international's late red card against Napoli earlier this month. Rodgers, though, is confident that his side will adapt to the challenges of playing without such a unique player.
"It’s impossible to find what we have in Wilf," he added. "We have good players, but specifically the job he does in breaking up the play and defending in the box, he’s irreplaceable, but we have lots of good players.

Although not injured, Kelechi Iheanacho will also not appear in Poland, as Rodgers explained: "We’ve had an issue with Kelechi. His documentation coming into the country wasn’t suffice, so unfortunately he isn’t available to play, which is a shame because he would have played in the game.
"He will be unavailable for the game. The paperwork didn’t allow him into the country. It’s unfortunate, but we’ll have to look into that when we get back."
