Group C is turning into the pool to watch in this season's competition with just three points separating leaders Legia Warsaw from bottom side Spartak, who visit the East Midlands this week. Leicester had to come from behind, aided by Patson Daka's exploits, to win 4-3 in the Russian capital last month.

Speaking inside CITY Matchday Magazine, the Club's official programme, Evans detailed the important role which City's supporters can play on Thursday – recalling the impact the Foxes faithful had during the 2-2 draw with Serie A leaders Napoli earlier this season.

Asked if he's excited for another European matchday on Filbert Way, the former Manchester United and West Bromwich Albion centre-back said: "Definitely, because I think that a big part of fans not being allowed in grounds during the pandemic curtailed that feeling.

When I walked out for the game against Napoli, that took me back; the atmosphere was incredible and I was just sad that I couldn’t finish the game.

"Looking back to the season after Leicester won the Premier League, I remember watching a few of the UEFA Champions League games and the lads here since have said that the atmosphere generated produced such a memorable occasion.

"We want to replicate those European nights, but the pandemic prevented that. The owners of this Football Club really put on an amazing show of generosity, when you see the scarves and similar that are provided to supporters to create a great atmosphere.

Looking back on that incredible victory over Spartak in Moscow, Evans believes there are things City can learn from in order to enjoy more control over Thursday's home encounter with Rui Vitória's 22-time Russian champions

Four Daka Strikes Secure Thrilling Spartak Victory

Patson Daka hit all four for Leicester City to win a seven-goal thriller against Spartak Moscow in the Russian capital.

"It was another strange game," the Northern Ireland international continued. "We ended up conceding with a deflected goal that came out of nowhere and immediately put us on the back foot, and before you know it we were 2-0 down.

"We were able to respond really quickly and get back into the game, and I think we found we created quite a lot of chances. Playing in Russia, that was totally different in terms of atmosphere and how they wanted to come out and set up to attack us.

"We were able to control the game by being on the ball a lot, especially in the first half, so I think it may be similar in Leicester. We may have a lot of the ball and we’ll try our best to break them down and get the early goal ourselves."

Fans can read Evans' interview in full and much more inside CITY Matchday Magazine, on sale outside the stadium on Thursday, priced at just £3.
