A 3-1 away victory sealed a spot in the next stage of the competition, as the Foxes came from a goal down to equalise late on, ahead of two extra-time goals completing the comeback against the Barclays FA Women's Super League high-flyers at The Hive Stadium.

The centre back, who returned to the starting XI to make her 14th appearance of the campaign across all formats and play her first FA Cup fixture in a Leicester City shirt, was part of a valiant defensive effort that restricted the in-form hosts to a solitary goal.

“I’m delighted,” Brougham said, giving her immediate post-match reaction to LCFC TV after the final whistle on Sunday afternoon. “It was a tough fixture to come here in the fourth round but we’re delighted to get through to the next round.

It’s massive. Obviously, it’s always good to go into the game with momentum off the back of a win so hopefully we take that into the game next week.

“They put a lot of pressure on us, but it was just about digging deep and grinding it out in the extra-time period, and we did that so we’re all delighted.”

After a goalless, but competitive first half, it was Rehanne Skinner’s Spurs outfit who struck the first blow on the hour-mark, via Angela Addison’s finish. That looked set to be decisive until Shannon O’Brien provided a sensational leveller in the capital.

Sophie Howard and Esmee De Graaf added their names to the scoresheet during extra-time, sealing the win that sets up an away fifth-round meeting with Chelsea.

“I think we started the game well,” the ex-Manchester City defender reflected. “That was the game plan, to go out and put on a performance and we did that. I don’t think we started the second half as well as the first half, but then we got ourselves back in the game and equalised and went on from there.

Brougham Delighted To Get Through

Georgia Brougham expressed her delight at helping LCFC Women seal their spot in the Vitality Women's FA Cup Fifth Round at the expense of Tottenham Hotspur.

“It’s good when a few faces get on the scoresheet. Shannon’s was a great strike, and then Sophie Howard was obviously going up top, it’s funny obviously seeing a defender go up there, but she can play anywhere, so I’m delighted for them.”

While the focus of the season remains retaining the Club’s Women’s Super League status, the positive performance and result in north London has provided impetus and energy that can be taken into Sunday’s crunch clash with Brougham’s former side, Birmingham City.

“It’s massive,” the 25-year-old added. “Obviously, it’s always good to go into the game with momentum off the back of a win so hopefully we take that into the game next week.”
