LCFC Women duo Ashleigh Plumptre and Jemma Purfield have both received nominations for the Barclays FA Women’s Super League February Player of the Month award for their performances in the Foxes’ wins over Birmingham City and West Ham United.

Commencing the month with a crucial fixture away from home against Birmingham, Ashleigh Plumptre played a pivotal role in ensuring Lydia Bedford’s team left St. Andrew’s Stadium with a vital 2-1 victory, despite late sustained pressure.
Going one step further, the Nigerian international netted her first WSL goal in City’s comprehensive 3-0 victory over West Ham at Pirelli Stadium.
Enjoying an equally impressive month out on the grass, Jemma Purfield netted the decisive goal in the Foxes’ victory over the Blues before turning provider with an assist against the Hammers to help secure back-to-back Foxes league wins.
