Brendan Rodgers made seven changes to his starting XI, with an entirely different back four taking to the field. However, the Foxes were still able to emerge victorious thanks to two first-half goals.

Ademola Lookman struck six minutes before the interval, before Dewsbury-Hall - the winner of City's Man of the Match award, as voted for by the Blue Army - unleashed a beautiful curling shot into the top corner.

“[It was] a fantastic performance, especially coming away after playing Thursday night, a quick turnaround,” reflected the No.22. “I thought we showed tremendous energy levels, especially in the first half.

“We pressed high, we were aggressive. Even with seven changes, it shows how strong our squad depth is. Everyone that came in wants to prove a point and get into the starting XI.

A Fantastic Performance, Says Dewsbury-Hall

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, after scoring his first Premier League goal in a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace, catches up with LCFC TV.

“It’s a fantastic performance, it’s great mentality and to come away with the three points, it’s really pleasing.”

The Academy graduate assisted Lookman for his opener, and he spoke highly of the Nigeria international’s contribution at full-time.

“It was a bit of a break up in play and I’ve picked up the ball,” he said of the goal. “Ade’s great at the one-two movement, where he goes out to come back in and I’ve seen it and played him in.

“It’s great composure from him, he’s a fantastic finisher and he practices that every day, so I’m glad it’s gone in for him.”

The highlight of the day, certainly for Dewsbury-Hall, was City’s second goal. His first Premier League strike came at an important moment, doubling the Leicester lead on the stroke of half-time.

He said: “It’s a special, special feeling. I’ve dreamt about that since I was a kid. It was a long time coming, I feel like I’ve had a couple of chances and I was thinking I just want to get a tap in just to start, but the way that one went in, it’s a great feeling and hopefully that’s the start of many.

We’re coming to a very important part of the season and everyone knows that. I feel like we’re in a good place at the moment, we’ve got a lot of the squad back and we can really kick on and have a great end to the season.

“As soon as I turned and hit it, I thought: ‘This has got a chance of going in’. Next thing I know, I look up and it’s going into the net. It’s a great feeling, especially here at King Power Stadium. To hear that roar, it’s fantastic.”

His celebration, meanwhile, also made its debut, as Dewsbury-Hall explained: “It was a mutual thing with a friend that I have. He asked me a long time ago to do that and I think he might have forgotten about it because I haven’t scored! But I did it for him, and he’ll be happy with that!”

It’s undoubtedly been a breakthrough season for the dynamic midfielder, whose sole aim until the end of the campaign is to continue to give his all for his boyhood club.

He added: “I’ll probably reflect at the end of the season. Now, games are coming thick and fast. I can’t really afford to sit back and look. I’ve got to be focused and recover, and be ready for each game.

“We’re coming to a very important part of the season and everyone knows that. I feel like we’re in a good place at the moment, we’ve got a lot of the squad back and we can really kick on and have a great end to the season.

“I’m just happy to be playing and doing as well as I can for the team, then come the end of the season, I’ll see where I’m at.”
