Under-18s Suffer West Brom Defeat In Seagrave

Leicester City’s Under-18s fell to a 5-1 league defeat at home to West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday morning.
More on this story...

Off the back of beating Chelsea three days ago, coach Adam Barradell made four changes to the side with Tyler Weeks, Freddie Cook, Jack Lewis and Amani Richards coming in for Arlo Doherty, Harvey Godsmark-Ford, Zach Booth and Chris Popov.

The young Foxes were behind on 18 minutes when Reyes Cleary opened his account and he would then turn provider for the second on the half-hour mark, setting up Josh Shaw to double the visitors’ advantage at LCFC Training Ground.

A Freddie Cook own goal just three minutes later gave City a mountain to climb in the second half. They did pull a goal back, however, seven minutes after the interval. Amani Richards stepped up to convert a penalty and reduce the deficit.

It took the Baggies just seven minutes to re-establish their three-goal cushion, courtesy of Cleary’s second and Layton Love added a fifth late on to complete a convincing success for the away side.

Leicester’s Under-18s remain fifth in U18 Premier League South ahead of hosting Southampton at LCFC Training Ground on Saturday 23 April (11am BST kick-off) in their next league fixture.
