Held across four continents, the challenge started at the Khun Vichai statue in Bangkok on Monday 18 April and ended at the Khun Vichai statue at King Power Stadium on Saturday.

Aiming to raise £55,555, fundraising will be split equally between both charities, the duo’s route included:

- Leg 1 – Bangkok (Asia)
- Leg 2 – Honolulu (Oceania)
- Leg 3 – Anchorage (North America)
- Leg 4 – New York (North America)
- Leg 5 – Leicester (Europe)

The Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation will be donating all funds raised during April to Leicester Hospitals Charity’s Neonatal Incubator Appeal – providing vital equipment for specialist care of babies in the first 28 days of life. A cause Khun Vichai donated to personally, the Leicester Hospitals Charity was selected as an ideal beneficiary for donations received following the inauguration of Khun Vichai’s statue, which was unveiled at King Power Stadium earlier this month.

The Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation was renamed in November 2018 in honour of Leicester City’s late Chairman, Khun Vichai, who tragically passed away, along with four others, in a helicopter accident.

With former player and Club Ambassador Alan Birchenall as its driving force, the Foundation uses the reach of the Premier League, the passion of fans and a creative approach to fundraising to benefit its community in a number of ways.

Formed as the LCFC Foxes Foundation in 2011/12 with the launch of the ‘One In A Million’ campaign, which looked to take the total of £850,000 already raised by legendary Club Ambassador ‘The Birch’ beyond the £1M mark.

This feat was achieved in the very first season thanks to a host of fundraising events, that culminated in Birch’s Annual Run around the pitch prior to the team’s final home game of the campaign.

Over the following seasons, The Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation has taken its fundraising beyond the £2M mark.

Money raised over the years has gone towards several important causes, including the funding of a renovation of Leicester Royal Infirmary’s Children’s Outpatient Ward and life-saving equipment desperately needed by the Children’s Intensive Care Unit.

Additionally, the Foundation has supported dozens of local causes, including Leicester Hospitals Charity, LOROS, Rainbows Children’s Hospice, Leicestershire Children’s Holiday Centre and by installing life-saving defibrillators in key areas around the county.

The Bodie Hodges Foundation, meanwhile, supports families who have experienced the death of a child aged 18 and under in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, as well as promoting organ donation.

Their vision is to give hope to families bereaved of a child by providing a range of services that support grieving families and encourage them to rebuild.
