Evans, Fofana & Suengchitthawon Take To International Stage
- Jonny Evans plays the full match as Northern Ireland lose 1-0 to Greece
- Wesley Fofana helped France Under-21s to a 2-0 win over Serbia Under-21s
- Youngster Thanawat Suengchitthawon represented Thailand Under-23s in the U23 Asian Championships
Starting from the off at Windsor Park in Belfast, Evans made further ground on his century of Northern Ireland appearances, however he couldn't help his nation avoid defeat by Greece.
Although Northern Ireland had opportunities of their own, Anastasios Bakasetas struck the winner to secure all three points in their UEFA Nations League pool.
Elsewhere, France Under-21s centre-back Fofana took to the field for 90 minutes as goals from Khephren Thuram and Amine Gouiri sealed three points. The French have now won seven of their eight fixtures and sit top of their UEFA U21 European Championships qualifying group, with 22 points to their name.
Earlier in the day, Development squad playmaker Thanawat Suengchitthawon played 90 minutes for Thailand Under-23s in their 2-2 draw with Vietnam Under-23s. Ben Davis and Suphanat Mueanta were on target for Suengchitthawon’s nation, who got their U23 Asian Championships off on a winning start.
