As a mark of respect to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, English football was postponed last weekend after the country's longest-serving monarch passed away on Thursday. This Saturday's visit to Tottenham Hotspur will be Leicester City's first fixture in a fortnight (5:30pm kick-off).

The Foxes are still searching for their first win of the new season and sit bottom of the standings with one point from six matches. Iheanacho, who scored in their last outing, a 5-2 reverse at Brighton & Hove Albion, has outlined how much a win in the capital would mean to the players.

"It would be massive – so, so massive for the Club and for everyone involved," he said. "A win would give us the momentum to go forward this season. We need to defend as a team, attack as a team and just work hard as a team.

We have great quality in this team, so we just need to believe in ourselves and get the points to get us back up there this season.

"We have been preparing very, very hard for this and hopefully it turns around this weekend. Training has been going quite well. The message has always been that we stick together whether we lose or win but right now we need to show character, hunger and desire.

"As players and as a team we know we can get the results we need, we showed that last season. So far this season, it’s just turned out the other way. We have great quality in this team, so we just need to believe in ourselves and get the points to get us back up there this season."

There’s still a lot of games left but we just need to start winning games now.

Iheanacho says there are no excuses for City and no easy routes out of their current predicament., They must work hard and stick together, he insists.

"We haven’t started well this season but I think we have been playing well," the Nigeria international added. "Every game, the outcome has not been good, but we need to stick together, we need to show character and we need to represent the Club and represent our families.

"We are not in good momentum at the moment but we do have a great quality in our team and we just have to stick together to come back. There’s still a lot of games left but we just need to start winning games now. We’re working really hard in training, so the wins will come."
