LCFC Family Launch Festive Support Campaign – At Home & Away

Leicester City's festive support campaign aims to bring relief to cities across the country united by the football family.

- Leicester City and its supporters to aid home and away communities during holiday season
- Foxes players lead donations to Leicester charities supporting cost-of-living crisis
- LCFC fans to lead foodbank donations for away games in Milton Keynes and Liverpool
- Donations to be made to foodbanks in Newcastle and Fulham ahead of home matches
- Ambassador Alan Birchenall calls for unity to support vital causes

As well as being a time for celebration, the holidays and the winter months will bring into sharper focus the cost-of-living pressures being felt across the country – from our communities here in Leicester to those of clubs throughout the football pyramid.

And working together with its supporter groups, the Club is coordinating a campaign both to offer support and raise awareness for vital causes in some of those communities.

Players from City’s men and women sides attended Action Homeless centre in Leicester this month to donate food, toiletries and other vital items as part of the campaign. Action Homeless is one of three locations that will benefit from the Club's scheme, with foodbanks in Milton Keynes and Liverpool - the Club's two away opponents over the festive season - also receiving donations.

Supporters wishing to make donations to any of those locations can find details of how to do so through the links above. Union FS will also be holding a foodbank collection for The Bridge, Leicester outside the SK1 entrance to King Power Stadium ahead of the match against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday 21 January.

City’s men’s first team face matches against Liverpool (30 December) and Fulham (3 January) during the remainder of the festive period and fans are taking the lead in extending the gesture to those communities through their network of supporter relationships.

Through causes established with the MK Dons Supporters Association and Liverpool supporters union Spirit of Shankly, fans will deposit donations with foodbanks in the cities of our two away matches during December. For causes highlighted by supporter groups of Newcastle United and Fulham, monetary donations will be made to support the communities of the two sides visiting King Power Stadium during the holiday season.

LCFC Women's Lachante Paul also attended Action Homeless.

Leicester City Ambassador Alan Birchenall said: “We’ve always made looking after our communities a big priority and we know there will be a lot of people in need of support this winter – both here in Leicester and around the country.

“Christmas is such a wonderful time to be with family and friends and football is often a big part of that. I hope this year the football family can come together again in support of something much more significant. Whether you live in Leicester, Milton Keynes, Newcastle, Liverpool or London, there will be communities affected by current challenges. I hope we can bring some attention and some relief to that plight.”
