Rodgers’ Fitness Update For Forest Clash

Leicester City will check on the fitness of Dennis Praet and Ayoze Pérez ahead of Saturday’s Premier League trip to Nottingham Forest, manager Brendan Rodgers says.

- Dennis Praet and Ayoze Pérez will be assessed prior to Leicester City’s Premier League match away to Nottingham Forest
- James Maddison and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall remain injured and will not feature
- City beat Forest 4-0 at King Power Stadium in October

The Foxes head to the City Ground in search of three Premier League points for the first time since the resumption of domestic football, having most recently lost 2-0 to Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.

Praet and Pérez are set to be assessed in the build-up to the weekend, however James Maddison (knee) and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (glute) will not be available.

“He’s progressing well but he won’t be available for the game,” Rodgers said of Maddison’s condition. “He’s still with the medical team.

“[Dewsbury-Hall] is not back [in training] yet. He won’t be training tomorrow (Friday), so it’ll be sometime next week.”

Praet has been recovering from an issue with his side, suffered in the Boxing Day loss to Newcastle. Pérez, meanwhile, picked up a knock against his former side earlier this week.

Discussing Praet, Rodgers said: “He’s back in training with the squad and that was his first day this morning, so he looked fine. We’ll see later how he is after the session and how he feels, but it’s good to have him back.

“Ayoze, we’ll have to keep an eye on him after game the other night, so we’ll see where he’s at tomorrow.”
