LCFC Women welcome the permanent addition of defensive midfielder Aimee Palmer to Belvoir Drive on a one-year contract from Barclays Women's Super League side Bristol City.

The 23-year-old makes the transition to Leicestershire following two seasons at Ashton Gate and leaves her former club having helped them win the Barclays Women's Championship title in her most recent campaign.
Palmer now has 88 senior career appearances to her name – 29 of which have come in WSL competition with the Robins – and arrives at Belvoir Drive having represented Manchester United and Sheffield United in the Women’s Championship during previous seasons.
Speaking to LCFC.com, Palmer said: "I am delighted to have got the move over the line. My ambitions match those of the Club so it’s great to finally be here.
“I’ve been around the group for a few days now and the culture fits with me very well. I’m excited to put the shirt on for the first time and get going.”
The midfielder has an impressive footballing education behind her, with several youth international caps to her name after representing England at various stages from Under-17 level up to the Lionesses’ Under-21s programme.
Now a two-time Championship title winner - having also won the trophy in 2018/19 with Manchester United - Palmer adds valuable experience and competition to Willie Kirk’s side as the Club embark on a third consecutive campaign in the top flight of English football.
The Foxes’ new no.6 has now linked up with her new team-mates at Belvoir Drive as the team undergo pre-season testing ahead of the 2023/24 season, which is scheduled to get underway against her former club Bristol City on Sunday 1 October at Ashton Gate (2pm kick-off).
