The 23-year-old arrives at King Power Stadium for an undisclosed fee having signed a two-year-deal with the Foxes following two seasons in Sweden’s top-flight, where she made 57 appearances in all competitions.

Speaking to LCFC.com, Rantala said: "It's exciting to play in a new league and against some of the world's best players. It's a new culture here for me in England – it’s obviously different to Sweden and I'm excited to experience that.

“The facilities here at the Club are amazing and I think we have everything we need at Belvoir Drive to be able to have a successful season, so I can’t wait to get started with my new team-mates.”

Born in Köyliö, Rantala started her career with NiceFutis in 2014, and netted 10 goals in her first senior season before switching to Turun Palloseura Naiset one year later.

The Finland international bolsters City's attacking talent.

Spells with FC Honka, HJK and Kristianstads DFF followed before the exciting forward moved to Vittsjö GIK in 2022, where she has spent the past two seasons.

Rantala brings a wealth of winning experience to Belvoir Drive, having won Kansallinen Liiga title and Finish Women's Cup double in 2019 during her time with HJK.

Internationally, Rantala made her Finland debut during the Cyprus Cup in 2020 and has since gone on to make a further 16 appearances for her country on the world stage.

City’s latest recruit will now link up with her new team-mates at Belvoir Drive as the Foxes prepare for a third consecutive season in the Barclays Women’s Super League, beginning away to Bristol City on Sunday 1 October (2pm kick-off).

LCFC Women Season Tickets for the 2023/24 campaign are also now on sale, with the first home game set for King Power Stadium against Everton on Sunday 8 October (3pm kick-off).
