City's Youngsters Fall To Wolves Defeat

Leicester City's Development Squad fell to defeat on Monday evening, with Wolverhampton Wanderers Under-21s leaving Seagrave with a 3-1 success.

Back in action for the first time in nearly a month, with their last outing being a 1-0 reverse to Brentford in the Premier League Cup on 10 November, the young Foxes welcomed Wolves in Premier League 2.

It turned out to be frustrating evening for City's youngsters, however, with Owen Hesketh's 19th-minute opener giving the visitors a half-time advantage.

Justin Hubner doubled that lead two minutes into the second half, before Leon Chiwome made it 3-0 on 53 minutes.

Although Amani Richards couldn't get the home side back into the game from the penalty spot on the hour mark, Kian Pennant did get on the scoresheet for Leicester, coached by Ben Petty, but it wouldn't be enough for a comeback.

City are currently 22nd in the 26-team Premier League standings on seven points from eight matches and next host Burnley in the Premier League Cup next Monday (7pm GMT kick-off).

The details

City: Young, Cover, Nelson, Wormleighton (Cartwright 58'), Godsmark-Ford, Raikhy, Wilson-Brown (Ali 82'), Alves, Richards, Popov (Pennant 59'), Maswanhise (Briggs 58').
