Thousands Turn Out For Promotion Parade!

Leicester City’s triumphant Sky Bet Championship winners were greeted with a sea of blue at the Clock Tower on Sunday for the Club’s victory bus parade.

After the coronation took place on Saturday, with the promoted Foxes being presented with the EFL trophy, the party continued a day later as Enzo Maresca’s Premier League bound squad paraded the silverware through the streets of Leicester.

City won the Championship with 97 points, amassing a joint Club-record 31 league victories and lifting an eighth second-tier title – more than any other side.

While there is now a Premier League return to plan in earnest, the Blue Army were out in force on Sunday, continuing a balmy Bank Holiday weekend by toasting Leicester’s achievement in the early summer sunshine at the end of an unforgettable season. With DJ MistaJam blaring out the tunes and a host of Foxes legends mingling with the crowds, it was a precious day full of scrapbook moments for fans young and old as we all raise a toast to our Championship winners.

Academy graduate Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, City's Player and Players' Player of the Season, said from atop of one of the buses: “A lot of people have come out today so we're just soaking it all in. It means everything to these fans. I'm so happy we can have a day like today where so many people can come out and enjoy it. That's what it's all about, celebrating together. I'm having an absolutely great day, it's fantastic scenes. We've worked so hard for moments like this.”

Starting on Northampton Street, the champions travelled along Humberstone Gate, taking in the incredible scenes below, before arriving at the Clock Tower – where large crowds had gathered to get a glimpse of the Championship trophy. The Filbert Way songbook was out at one of Leicester's most beloved landmarks, draped in blue, packed with thousands of City fans.

James Justin, the winner of the Goal of Season prize for a stunning hit at Cardiff City in December, added: “I'm so happy the fans can be here for this today. There's so many people that came together to help us win the league. The fans are a big part of that alongside all of the coaching staff, the kitchen staff, everybody down at the training ground, working day in, day out. We're forever grateful for that and hopefully days like this give something back to everyone.”

Another Trophy Lift At The Clock Tower!

Take in the scenes as Leicester City's title-winners lift the Sky Bet Championship trophy at the end of their victory parade through the streets of Leicester.

Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, Manager Maresca and the Leicester City players were there on the balcony for another trophy lift – one of the final acts of over a week of delirious celebrations after the Club’s Premier League return was confirmed.

Leicester lad Hamza Choudhury was taking it all in, speaking live: “We've had amazing support all season and it's great seeing them today come out in their numbers. Honestly, throughout the season, we've gone to places like Plymouth and Ipswich and they were there in their numbers. I can't tell you how much it gives the lads a big push. I've spent so much of my life down here (in the city centre), so to be here on the bus with thousands of people out, it's amazing.”

Wout Faes, on the other hand, said: "This is amazing, it's crazy, these are the moments we play for. It's unbelievable, it's a sea of blue. The atmosphere between the fans and the supporters who are celebrating, it's the best feeling!"
