Vestergaard & Kristiansen Help Denmark To Nations League Victory
- Denmark up and running in the UEFA Nations League with success against Switzerland
- Jannik Vestergaard and Victor Kristiansen played throughout the 2-0 victory
- Jordan Ayew and Abdul Fatawu were in AFCON qualifying action for Ghana
- Michael Golding made an appearance in England Under-19s draw with Italy
Leicester City pair Vestergaard and Kristiansen both played the full 90 minutes of the UEFA Nations League clash at Parken Stadium, as late goals from Patrick Dorgu and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg settled matters in the Danish capital.
The Swiss played the majority of the second half with 10 men - Nico Elvedi's straight red card giving the hosts a numerical advantage and once Granit Xhaka saw red for a second bookable offence, the visitors were reduced to nine.
Victor Kristiansen
The full-back earned his 13th international cap.
With former Fox Kasper Schmeichel between the sticks, Mads Hermansen was an unused substitute in Copenhagen.
It puts Denmark top of League A Group 4 after matchday one and coming up on Sunday is a meeting with Serbia, once again at Parken Stadium (5pm kick-off).
Jordan Ayew and Abdul Fatawu started for Ghana in their 1-0 home defeat to Angola earlier in the day. In their opening Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, an injury-time goal from Milson separated the sides at Baba Yara Stadium.
Fatawu played 82 minutes of the contest, while Ayew featured and was replaced with four minutes of normal time remaining. The duo could be in action again when the Black Stars take on Niger in their second Group F fixture on Monday, a 4pm kick-off at Stade Municipal de Berkane in Morocco.

On Wednesday, Michael Golding came on as a second-half substitute to help England Under-19s draw 2-2 with Italy in Croatia.
With the Young Lions trailing, the midfielder was introduced from the bench just after the hour-mark and Leo Black's goal four minutes from time saw Will Antwi's side take a share of the spoils at Stadium Nedelišće.
They face Croatia next on Saturday at Stadium Koprivnica (3:45pm kick-off) before tackling Germany at the same venue next Tuesday (3:30pm kick-off).
