Maguire Thrilled With City Adaptiveness
- Leicester City have adapted well to the difficult Austrian conditions, says Harry Maguire

- The defender has enjoyed pre-season and is eager to carry on the good work in Hong Kong next week
Maguire is coming up to his second full week as a Fox and while conditions have been tough in Velden, he has certainly found them enjoyable.
The defender revealed that he has been pleased with his fitness levels and is confident that City will be prepared for their opening Premier League Asia Trophy fixture in Hong Kong against West Bromwich Albion.
“My fitness is getting better each day,” Maguire told LCFC TV. “I wake up with tired legs every now and then but some days feel better than others. On Wednesday, we had a rest day and we’ve come out today (Thursday) and had a tough session.
Maguire Settling In Well
Harry Maguire talks about his first trip away with the squad, how he’s settling in, as well as how hard the team are working in Austria.
“We’ve got another two sessions and then we leave Austria, then we’ll look forward to Hong Kong as we start playing games. It’s a pleasing start.
“The more you train every day, you get used to the heat. The conditions are hard, especially when you’re doing tough sessions out here.
“You do get used to it and it’s good for your fitness, so you sweat it all out. It’s good and we’ll be looking forward to the English weather too, as we’ll have adapted well.
“In pre-season, you come in and worry about running and not seeing the balls, but it’s been great here. We’ve had the balls out since the first day and it’s been enjoyable. It’s been very tough but we’re getting fitter as a team.”
Maguire has settled quickly at the Club and had some kind words for his team-mates, who have been extremely welcoming. Now, he’s relishing the opportunity to get to know them even better.
He added: “The lads have welcomed me really well so I’m settling in. It’s tough with running and playing a lot of football, but I’m enjoying it. I’m looking forward to what it’s got to bring when the games come. It’s all about getting fit and ready for the first game of the season.
“Trips away are there so you see the lads 24 hours a day, so it’s good team bonding. You get to know the lads a lot better. After the trips, I’m sure I’ll get to know a lot more about them.”
