- Leicester City Under-23s were held to a 3-3 draw at Liberty Way by Nuneaton Town on Saturday
- Trio Josh Gordon, Josh Eppiah and new signing Sam Hughes scored for the Foxes in Warwickshire
- Former City striker Ashley Chambers, now 27, notched twice against his former club for the Boro
- Tommy Wright, who played for Leicester between 2001 and 2006, is in now charge of Nuneaton

Goals from Josh Gordon, Josh Eppiah and Sam Hughes helped the visitors overturn a two-goal deficit in Warwickshire after Callum Ball and ex-City striker Ashley Chambers gave Nuneaton an early lead.

The hosts averted defeat late on as Chambers struck again in front of a 304-strong crowd. Chambers, 27, captained Boro 12 years after becoming Leicester's youngest-ever player at 15 against Blackpool in 2005.

Nuneaton boss Tommy Wright, meanwhile, also enjoyed a reunion with Steve Beaglehole having worked under him at Belvoir Drive between 2001 and 2006, scoring twice in 21 appearances for City.

The day started in sunshine and Wright’s men were ahead inside four minutes after Ball picked out the bottom corner. Soon after, it was 2-0 as Chambers intercepted Daniel Iversen and finished confidently.

Before the interval, the weather deteriorated into a summer downpour, but before the heavens opened, Gordon nodded in Connor Wood’s cross and Eppiah blasted home from Lamine Kaba Sherif’s neat pass.

After the break, new Foxes signing Hughes got his head onto another fine Wood delivery to put Beaglehole’s young Foxes side ahead, completing an impressive turnaround for the Club's Under-23s.

Steve Beaglehole coached Tommy Wright at City for over five years.

It didn't last long, though, as Chambers chipped it over substitute ‘keeper Max Bramley with just 12 minutes still to play, much to the delight of the National League North side's supporters.

However, the occasion proved to be another worthwhile workout for City as they prepare to depart for the prestigious Tournoi European in Ploufragan next week.

City: Iversen (Bramley 45'), Knight (Bassey 54'), Wood, Choudhury, Hughes, Trialist (Pascanu 31'), Martis (Kaba Sherif 31'), Watts (Leshabela 80'), Eppiah (Ndukwu 54'), Muskwe, Gordon.

Goals: Gordon 41’, Eppiah 44’, Hughes 59’.
