Young Foxes Fall To Narrow Chelsea Defeat

A determined display from Leicester City’s Academy side was not enough to prevent a 3-2 defeat by PLU18 leaders Chelsea at Belvoir Drive on Saturday.

- Leicester City's Under-18s suffer a 3-2 defeat by Chelsea in the Premier League U18 division
- George Heaven and Lukas Husek struck for the young Foxes at Belvoir Drive
- Trevor Peake's men are fourth in the South League after just a second loss this term
- City next face Arsenal at the Club's training ground on Saturday (11:30am kick-off)

The visitors, who lifted the title last term, maintained their 100 per cent start to the new season despite Trevor Peake’s men almost causing an upset at the Club’s training ground.

George Heaven put the young Foxes into an early lead inside 12 minutes before Charlie Brown’s equaliser for the 2016/17 FA Youth Cup winners just three minutes later.

Martell Taylor-Crossdale then gave the visiting Blues a 2-1 advantage shortly after the interval before Lukas Husek struck for City with eight minutes of the second half to go.

However, despite another encouraging display from Leicester, Tushaun Tyreece-Walters found a way beyond stopper Cameron Yates with just five minutes remaining.

Peake’s men next welcome Arsenal to Belvoir Drive on Saturday 21 October (11:30am kick-off) before a busy November schedule sees them face Aston Villa, Fulham and Swansea City.

City: Yates, Thandi, Heaven, Husek, Ughelumba, Gill, Tee (McLeod 71), Leshabela (Thomas 78), Williams (Pennant 71), Shade, Fielding.

Goals: Heaven 12, Husek 82
