The Frenchman added: “For Morgan, he continues to make good progress. We will see.”

Midfielder Adrien Silva, who played in both fixtures against Fleetwood Town in the Emirates FA Cup, has been regaining his match fitness after a six-month hiatus from senior action.

“It was important for him to have game time after six months without playing,” Puel continued. “It was good that he played with the Under-23s and two games in the Cup.

“It was a baptism of fire in English football and he is improving. We will see for the next game.

“It’s always a good thing to have good players in midfield. I hope this competition will give a good feeling to all the players to continue their hard work on the training pitches.”

Robert Huth, on the other hand, played for 90 minutes for the Club’s Development Squad during a 4-2 defeat by Oldham Athletic in the Checkatrade Trophy on Wednesday night.
