Puel's Fitness Update: Amartey & Okazaki
- Leicester City defender Daniel Amartey will miss Saturday's clash at West Bromwich Albion
- Manager Claude Puel says the Ghana international could be out for a month with a hamstring issue
- Shinji Okazaki is available for the match at the Hawthorns this weekend (3pm kick-off)
Amartey, who was substituted with a hamstring injury during the 1-1 draw with Bournemouth, has been assessed at Belvior Drive and will miss this weekend's encounter with the Baggies.
“Amartey will be injured,” Puel confirmed, before also providing an update on Okazaki (knee). “It is a hamstring injury. Other players, like Shinji, are available and fit to come back into the squad.
Training Exclusive: West Bromwich Albion
The lads have been back on the training pitch this morning in preparation for Saturday's Premier League fixture against West Brom.
“[It will be] one month [for Amartey]. He can come back after this injury. There is an interesting competition in the squad and players show spirit to fight for their places.”
On the competition for places within his squad, Puel added: "We have some players starting a lot of games, of course, and I think about the other players who are in competition to find a place.
"It’s about our play, it’s about the confidence and finding the clinical edge."
