Foxes Set For International Duty

As many as 21 of Leicester City’s First Team and Development Squad stars could add to their international portfolios over the next fortnight.

Jamie Vardy and Harry Maguire will travel to Amsterdam with the England squad for an international friendly against the Netherlands on Friday 23 March (7:45pm kick-off).

Following that clash with Ronald Koeman’s Dutch, the Three Lions then head back to London to tackle Italy at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday 27 March (8pm).

Ben Chilwell, Demarai Gray (U21s), Harvey Barnes, Darnell Johnson (U20s) and Callum Wright (U18s) take City’s contingent of English international representatives up to seven.

Jamie Vardy could add to his 19 caps when England face the Netherlands away on Friday 23 March (7:45pm kick-off) and Italy at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday 27 March (8pm).

Adrien Silva, meanwhile, could make his 20th and 21st appearances for Portugal when they face Egypt, on Friday (7:45pm), and the Netherlands, on Monday 26 March (7:30pm).

Elsewhere, City's No.26 Riyad Mahrez and compatriot Islam Slimani (on loan with Newcastle United) have been selected for Algeria’s friendlies versus Tanzania and Iran.

They first host Tanzania on Thursday 22 March (5pm) before, five days later, Rabah Madjer’s men travel to Austria to face Iran on neutral territory (6pm).

Schmeichel currently has 31 caps for his country.

Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, on the other hand, will be up for selection ahead of Denmark’s home double-header against Panama, on Thursday, and Chile, on Tuesday (both 7pm).

Nigerian trio Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Ịheanachọ and Ahmed Musa (on loan at CSKA Moscow) head to Poland on Friday 23 March (7:45pm) before facing Serbia in Barnet on Tuesday (TBC).

Aleksandar Dragović, too, could take his caps tally to 56 if he appears during Austria’s friendly clashes with Slovenia, on Friday (7:45pm), and Luxembourg, on Tuesday (7:30pm).

Central midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is the Premier League's top tackler this season.

Academy graduate and Premier League winner Andy King, who is spending the remainder of the 2017/18 campaign with Swansea City, has been selected by new Wales manager Ryan Giggs.

Wales will open their China Cup campaign against the hosts at Guangxi Sports Centre Stadium on Thursday morning (11:35am).

A maiden cap for Tunisia could also be on the cards for Yohan Benalouane, who has been called up for fixtures against Iran, on Friday (6pm), and Costa Rica, on Tuesday (8pm).

Elsewhere, City’s 2016/17 Academy Player of the Season Alex Pascanu could go head-to-head with Chilwell and Gray when Romania U21s take on England at Mollineux on Saturday 24 March (5:15pm).

Pascanu is progressing up the ranks at international level.

England's other fixture, meanwhile, falls on Tuesday, against Ukraine at Bramall Lane, the home of Sheffield United (6pm).

George Thomas, who has impressed for the Club’s Development Squad this term, could also appear for Wales U21s at Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday evening (2pm).

Shot-stopper Daniel Iversen is in contention for Denmark’s U21s outfit, who face Austria and then Georgia on Thursday and Tuesday (TBC).

Finally, midfielder Bartosz Kapustka has been named as part of the Poland U21s squad to face Lithuania on Tuesday evening (5pm).
