City host Derby County on home soil, a match supporters can watch for free on LCFC TV, to bring the curtain down on the 2017/18 league season in front of the Blue Army.

While the Foxes know Arsenal now hold an unassailable lead at the Division 1 summit, the fixture will be an opportunity for the Club’s Under-23s to reflect on a hugely impressive season.

Wright, 18, has settled in quickly since joining from Blackburn Rovers in January and is keen to continue making his mark before the campaign comes to an end.

Wright Previews PL2 Visit Of Derby

Youngster Callum Wright speaks to LCFC TV ahead of the Development Squad's PL2 clash against Derby County on Monday.

“All the lads are obviously disappointed with the result against Sunderland [a 4-1 defeat] but we’re looking forward to playing back at King Power Stadium,” he told LCFC TV.

“Hopefully we can get the right result against Derby. We know that we just need to the right things on the day and everything else will take care of itself.”

While City’s overall season will continue on Friday with the visit of Aston Villa to King Power Stadium in the Premier League Cup semi-finals, Wright says focus is purely on Derby.

“We know that we’re still in the Premier League Cup and whatever we do on Monday will be a bonus after a really good season for us in every competition so far,” he added.

“It’s been good to get to know all of the players, from the first team to the Under-18s, and all the staff as well, so everyone has helped me settle in and made me feel comfortable.

“Now I just want to kick on and excel in my games and training.”

The Under-23s’ last outing on Filbert Way was a night to remember as they ran out as 4-0 victors over Liverpool and Wright concluded by revealing how much the squad enjoys playing in front of the Blue Army.

He said: “Everybody’s excited to play in front of the fans because it’s different to playing without any. It gives everyone a confidence boost like the last time we played there against Liverpool.”
