The Foxes take on David Moyes men in what will be their penultimate home game of the 2017/18 campaign but Puel has revealed a number of stars will miss out through injury.

However, the Frenchman provided a positive update on Spanish midfielder Vicente Iborra, who came off against Newcastle United last month with a hamstring problem.

Speaking to the media on Friday, Puel said: “There’s an ankle problem with [Robert] Huth, [Shinji] Okazaki, [Kasper] Schmeichel, and [Ben] Chilwell in training.

[Matty] James has had tendon surgery. It’s a hamstring strain for [Wilfred] Ndidi and [Daniel] Amartey and [Marc] Albrighton is suspended.

Foxes Prepare For The Hammers

Leicester City were hard at work on Friday as they prepared to face West Ham United in the Premier League.

[Vicente] Iborra has come back into the squad. He comes back with just two or three training sessions and we will see for Saturday. [Danny] Simpson has a groin pain and is not available also”

Meanwhile, Kasper Schmeichel is continuing his recovery from an ankle problem and Puel says City will wait to see if he can make a return.

He added: “We will wait for Kasper and how he is feeling, if he can come back. It’s the same with Okazaki and different players.

“It’s not a serious injury but there are a lot of players are not available and it’s difficult.”

Puel says Saturday’s clash with the Hammers will be a good opportunity for players to impress in England’s top flight.

“We will have a tough game to play,” added Puel. “West Ham need the points, of course. They have a difficult schedule.

“We know we play in this moment all good teams. There are a lot of teams trying to save their place. It is a good challenge.

“We know the difficulties that we have to prepare for in this game. It will be a good opportunity for some players to have game time and to show their quality.

“For the others, to give good support for their team-mates, to give them the support necessary in this game. With our fans together, we know what we want for this club.”
