Barnes Shines For Baggies Once Again

The Foxes midfielder has swiftly become a firm fans' favourite for the Sky Bet Championship club and his exploits at The Hawthorns this week further strengthened his reputation.

On another landmark night for the 20-year-old, Barnes set up Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez before adding the goal his fantastic performance deserved in the second half.

The Baggies, who are now third in the second tier, next host Millwall on Saturday for a 3pm BST kick-off.

Elsewhere, City duo Filip Benković and Bartosz Kapustka made their debuts for Celtic and Oud-Heverelee Leuven over the past weekend.

Benković's Celtic were held to a 0-0 draw by St Mirren.

Benković, 21, will spend the remainder of the campaign with Scottish champions Celtic and played for over 60 minutes as Brendan Rodgers' men drew 0-0 at St Mirren on Friday night.

The Bhoys, who had Olivier Ntcham sent off in the 37th minute, sit second in the Scottish Premiership, five points behind former Foxes boss Craig Levein's Hearts.

City's new defensive signing could be action once again when Celtic host host Rosenborg in their maiden UEFA Europa League group stage match on Thursday (8pm BST kick-off).

Meanwhile, Kapustka also made his first appearance for OH Leuven as Nigel Pearson's men suffered a 3-1 defeat by Tubize at Stade Leburton on Saturday.

The Proximus League side, who also had Foxes Academy product Elliott Moore among their ranks, welcome Roeselare to King Power at Den Dreef Stadium on Saturday (7:30pm BST kick-off).

An OHL debut for Kapustka ended in defeat at Tubize.

Islam Slimani, on the other hand, played the full 90 minutes for Fenerbahçe, who ended a three-game losing streak to overcome Konyaspor 1-0 on Sunday at Torku Arena.

The Turkish giants travel to Dinamo Zagreb, Benković's former club, in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday (8pm BST kick-off).

Goalkeeper Daniel Iversen kept another clean sheet for Oldham Athletic in a 3-0 victory over Grimsby Town at Blundell Park.

That result leaves the League 1 side in sixth place ahead of Saturday's home match against Colchester United (3pm BST kick-off).

George Thomas, after his two goals for Wales U21s, was an unused substitute in Scunthorpe's 3-2 win at Wimbledon, while Max Bramley's AFC Telford drew 1-1 with Stockport in National League North.
