The Foxes are unbeaten in five matches in all competitions but have been frustrated by three successive draws - results which place added importance on securing victory this weekend.

Javi Gracia’s visitors, meanwhile, are also without a victory in three matches, meaning their visit to Filbert Way is crucial for both sides and their Premier League ambitions.

Speaking on Friday, Nigeria international Iheanacho, 22, said: “We know Watford have a good team, a good squad and they’ve been really good this season.

“We have to stand to the occasion on Saturday and have to really do our best to make sure we beat them, as our last game wasn’t bad.

The Foxes were back at Belvoir Drive as preparations continue for Saturday's Premier League game against the Hornets.

“But it wasn’t good enough [for three points]. I think we have to show character in this game and get the three points.”

On his own personal objectives for the remainder of the 2018/19 season, Iheanacho added: “I’m hoping for good things to come.

“I’ve just got to keep my head up, keep working hard and hope for good things to come.

“Some things I’m not doing right, I need to put right as well on the pitch and off it. I need to get my head straight and keep working hard.

“I just need to do extra on top of what I’m doing. I just need to keep doing extra and keep putting the work in and wait for it to come. I just need to focus.

“The partnership with [Jamie] Vardy and [James] Maddison, I think it will be great if we do keep playing that way and keeping passing the ball, with Marc Albrighton as well and everyone in the squad.

“We have a good team, people that can pass the ball and make a difference in the team.”

Iheanacho also discussed playing under Claude Puel's management, continuing: “He’s a great manager. I think everyone that knows him, knows he’s a great manager. He’s a friend of the Nigeria manager as well.

“He speaks to me a lot, and the same with the other players. He speaks to everybody, keeping their confidence up and gives them the freedom to play.”
