The Foxes play the current Carabao Cup holders at King Power Stadium for the second time in as many years, having been narrowly beaten on penalties in the last eight at the same stage last season.

Gray, on target in the penalty shootout win over Southampton in the fourth round, says he thrives off occasions like Tuesday night and hopes City can advance in a competition that the Club have won three times.

“It would be huge, I think just for the fans – trips to Wembley – and for me personally as well, I thrive off that type of stuff,” said Gray of City’s quest to progress.

Demarai Gray was on target in the shootout win over Southampton in the fourth round.

“We’ve got our targets set high and we’re not going into the game thinking ‘it’s Man City, it’s a tough game and we’re probably expected to lose because we’re underdogs’, we’ll be firing and it’s something that is possible to achieve.

“Of course, we want to try and change the result from last year and claim a bit of revenge. A bit of silverware would be nice.

“The manager sets his targets on silverware and takes the cup seriously. We’re playing for a lot and we’re definitely hoping to progress.”

It’s not always going to be easy or pretty, but we’re capable of seeing games out and getting the result any way that’s possible.

Winger Gray believes Leicester have shown they can grind out results in the Carabao Cup, having not conceded a goal in the competition this term.

“I think now the rules have changed and it goes straight to penalties, you know that penalties are a lottery,” added the No.7. “You don’t know who’s going to miss.

“It shows that we’ve got that composure if it gets to that stage of the game. We can see games out, there was 20 minutes where we were under the cosh against Southampton and we just rode it – we got the result in the end.

“It’s not always going to be easy or pretty, but we’re capable of seeing games out and getting the result any way that’s possible.”
