During his 14th season at the Club, Stowell will assume responsibility for the senior squad alongside fellow First Team Coach Adam Sadler, as the Seagulls visit King Power Stadium.

Ahead of the game, the former Wolverhampton Wanderers shot-stopper challenged the Club’s stars to improve their position in the Premier League table by collecting three points against Brighton.

“We have got a game plan for tomorrow,” Stowell said on Monday. “It's good that the game has come so quick, it's the best thing that can happen.

“We have not had a lot of time with the players, it's just about making them feel bright and good about themselves.

“I spoke to the players this morning and told them how good they are and how good they can be, but I challenged them and said 'we are a top seven team’.

“That's where we have to be.”

While Stowell provided no steer on which stars will feature against Chris Hughton’s men, the 53-year-old explained his knowledge of the squad will stand him in good stead.

“It's not difficult at all,” when asked about team selection. “I have known these players inside out. It'll be a purely footballing decision.

“I'll pick a team to get points and in the Premier League, it's tough to get points.

“We gave them a pep talk this morning and hopefully they will go out there and get the job done.”
