Leicester City defenders Ben Chilwell and Harry Maguire both played 120 minutes as England were beaten 3-1 in extra-time by the Netherlands on Thursday evening.

- Ben Chilwell and Harry Maguire play from start to finish against the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League Semi-Finals
- The Three Lions lost 3-1 despite going ahead through Marcus Rashford
- England will now take on Switzerland in Guimarães on Sunday

Academy graduate Chilwell picked up his seventh cap for Gareth Southgate’s men, while Maguire played his 19th game in Three Lions colours during the UEFA Nations League Semi-Final tie.

England went ahead at Estádio D. Afonso Henriques in Guimarães through Marcus Rashford’s penalty, but with 17 minutes to play, Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt headed home to level matters.

Harry Maguire and Ben Chilwell formed part of England's four-man defence against the Netherlands.

While former Fox Jesse Lingard thought he had won it late on, his strike was ruled out following a VAR check, before an own goal from Manchester City’s Kyle Walker and Quincy Promes’ 114th-minute strike won it for Ronald Koeman’s side.

Chilwell and Maguire’s nation will now face Switzerland in the third-place play-off on Sunday in Guimarães (2pm BST kick-off).

On Friday evening, meanwhile, City stopper Kasper Schmeichel could be in UEFA EURO 2020 qualifying action when they host the Republic of Ireland in Copenhagen.
