Integral Vardy
Gerry Taggart said: “I think Brendan Rodgers realised quickly that Jamie Vardy has been Leicester City’s main man for six or seven years now. He is a vital and integral part of this team. He needs to be a vocal point when Brendan is doing his tactical training in the week. Brendan has come in and made sure of that and that is why we are all seeing the very best of Jamie Vardy on a regular basis in a Leicester City shirt.”
City grew into the game
Steve Walsh said: “Bournemouth came out of the blocks early on and caused a few problems, but Leicester grew into the game steadily and Vardy’s goal was unbelievable. You could question the goalkeeper, but the ball from [Ben] Chilwell was direct, a long ball over the top, and Vardy doesn’t get many of them anymore with teams sitting back. You know when it’s one-on-one, Vardy’s going to get in and the finish was sublime. He was unplayable for me on Saturday.”
No fear
Gerry Taggart said: “The Chelsea game will be a marker for the season. There’s still more to come from this team. These next four games will give you a real insight into where Leicester City are at. They go into those games with no fear, especially Manchester United. Absolutely no fear whatsoever. They are more than capable of not just going there and competing, but actually taking all three points. The expectations are different now.”
Phenomenal Vardy
Steve Walsh said: “He has to be one of the best players to play for the Club. There’s no doubt about that. He must be ecstatic at the moment. He has been phenomenal for this club and he deserves everything he gets. You look back at some of the goals he’s scored over his time at Leicester City, they are unbelievable. He’s got to be right up there as the best ever in the Club's history… apart from me and Gerry!”
Keep the mentality
Gerry Taggart said: “There’s a really good team in place with a really good manager. It’s all starting to come together nicely. We haven’t seen the best of them yet, not for me, but it’s coming. That’s why I think Leicester City can go into the big games, full of confidence, and expect – expect – to pick up positive results. As soon as they walk back in from the international break, that mentality has to be the same.”

Steve Walsh said: “In the second half, Bournemouth were struggling to find the answers. They couldn’t deal with the football Leicester were playing. The fast combination passes and the way Leicester kept possession and were moving the ball quickly… in the end there could have been more goals. It was that good of a performance and I think there’s more to come too. Leicester aren’t even out of the blocks yet. It’s really exciting where we’re going.”
